PASSION FOR WRITING

I’m a freelance writer and photographer, and a reporter for the Summit Daily News in Frisco, Colorado. My journalistic passions include environmental reporting, ski and travel writing, and nature, landscape and travel photography. My freelance work has appeared in publications including the Denver Post, 5280, High Country News, Wild Blue Yonder, the Aspen Times, the Vail Daily, the Telluride Daily Planet and Steamboat Magazine. Some of my most interesting assignments include features on Colorado mushroom festivals, the history of night skiing in Colorado, the natural history of the Great Sand Dunes and a review of eco-friendly lodges in Aspen. I’ve also covered the political wrangling over new management plans for the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and the issue of snowmobile use in Yellowstone National Park.

I’m currently available for travel writing and environmental reporting, as well as for photography assignments. Click on the links to the left to see samples of my work.

“If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears.”
